Dr. Zewdie received his medical degree from Addis Ababa University in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  He completed his residency training at Long Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and his fellowship in nephrology at State University of NY Downstate Medical, Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Zewdie opened his own medical practice, Midwest Nephrology Group, PLLC in 2005.  He has served on the Medical Executive Committee at Midwest Alliance Health and as past Chairman of the Department of Medicine for over four years.  Dr. Zewdie has conducted several research studies in the area of chronic kidney disease as a principal investigator.
